“I have a sixteen-year-old Thoroughbred who is currently on limited grazing therefore spends much of his time stabled. I decided to try using Thermatex leg wraps to keep his joints warm during the colder months, as I

had heard from a friend that her competition horses wore them when their legs were clipped out to keep them warm. After a few days of using them I noticed a vast improvement; in that he was less stiff and less prone to clicky joints the following day.

The wraps were easy to put on and were secure, and I was happy that they were safe and would not loosen whilst my horse was wearing them. They are made from a soft material, and didn’t leave any rub marks, my horse seemed very comfortable wearing them.

Another of my horses suffers from mud fever; so I also tried Thermatex leg wraps with her. Her legs dried much more quickly after washing, when I put the leg wraps on her, and were ideal as the fabric actively wicks moisture away from the legs. Thermatex leg wraps are manufactured using a double layer of their unique woven fabric, so at the same time as she was drying, the insulation layer helped to retain heat ensuring her legs remained warm- which was important as she is an older mare.

After use, the wraps dried quickly making them easy to use more than once a day.

Thermatex wraps are the perfect deterrent against Mud Fever, the cold and the damp; and I feel are highly advantageous for older horses. All three of the horses I tested them on benefitted from them in different ways and I would be more than happy to recommend them to my equestrian friends.”
