Hats Off to LEGO

Joe Morgan June 17, 2010 1

Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot is all about the hats and this year was no exception when millenary madness descended on the famous horseracing event today.  Among the top hats on show were these two wonderful creations by LEGO.

Designed by Leicester College fashion student, Charlotte Samuel, and built by certified professional LEGO builder and member of the Brickish Association, Duncan Titmarsh, the hats are made solely from LEGO bricks, with the female design based upon the LEGO motto – ‘inspiring and developing the builders of tomorrow.’

Made from approximately 1,400 bricks the ladies’ hat took 14 hours to build whilst the top hat is made from 1,000 bricks and was produced in eight hours.
