Eventing legends Lucinda and Clayton Fredericks were seeing double when their superstar mare Headley Britannia came face to face with her rocking horse twin.
The very special rocking horse has been made by the world renowned Stevenson Brothers and incorporates one of ‘Brit’s’ horse shoes and a lock of her tail hair. It will be one of many ‘one-off’ lots to be auctioned today at Cheffins of Cambridge to raise funds for The British Horse Society’s ‘Think Before You Breed’ campaign.
The lucky bidder will get to take home their own version of one of the world’s most prolific event horses and who knows, perhaps some of Brit and Lucinda’s magic will rub off on them!
Lee Hackett, BHS Head of Welfare, said: “Brit epitomises what our campaign is about and is the perfect mare to breed from. She is sound, has a fabulous temperament and an unparalleled performance record. We’re delighted that Lucinda and Clayton agreed to let her be the model for this exquisite rocking horse. Brit herself was certainly taken with it!
“Whoever buys this unique lot will end up with a wonderful family heirloom at the same time as helping out an exceptionally worthy cause.”
