New Hall School, based in Chelmsford, took the Essex show jumping title on the 15th May at an inter-schools event making them County Champions for 2010. They were the sole team to go through to the jump off on zero penalties making them the outright winners of the competition.
The winning team consisted of Maddie Taylor riding Dakota IV, Gabbie Oxlade riding Lalka, Annabel Schwier riding Mornington Crescent and Anna Giles riding Wigwam Bam.
Schools from all over Essex took part in the one-metre high County Show Jumping Championship, sponsored by Hooked on Horses Magazine, and the class rounded off a great day of inter – schools competition at the Chelmsford venue.
New Hall School hosted the Inter-School Show Jumping Qualifier and County Championship Show which took place at Norton Heath Equestrian Centre. The jumps were on an outdoor surface which proved ideal for spectators who gathered at the ringside to watch the competition unfold.
The class was also supported by the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association). The NSEA was formed in 1991 in order to coordinate inter-school equestrian competitions and promote riding at all levels, in State and Independent schools. The NSEA also work in partnership with the BHS (British Horse Society).
