It’s the end of an anxious wait for many fifteen and sixteen-year-olds across Essex, as their much anticipated GCSE results will be out today. The Equestrian Learning Academy is on hand to help with information and advice for those thinking about a career in the equine industry.

After weeks of waiting, many Year 11 pupils will be breathing a sigh of relief as they rip open their envelopes to discover the marks in their first compulsory national exams, a week after the A-level marks were released.

GATEWAY PROGRAMME IN HORSE CARE

This is a tailor made, foundation learning full time course of at least 16 hours a week over 6 months including opportunities for work experience progressing to employment.

This level 1 programme is suitable for those looking to work in the equine industry but hasn’t yet secured employment and do not already have level 2 qualifications. It’s one of the most diverse industries within the land-based sector with opportunities for working in livery yards, riding schools, racing yards and training yards. For the ages of 16-19 this is a fantastic first step to working with horses.
