August’s rider of the month is Carolina Faulkner from Romford, who has had a whirlwind of success in the last two months including a qulification for The Horse of the Year Show and winning the championship at Felsted Show, all riding Linkwood Dancer.
On the seventeenth of July Carolina won several classes at the Felsted showing show including the ridden hunter type, the open working riding horse class, before going on to take the championship in the working horses ring.
Carolina aded that her favourite show classes are the working classes, as that way they still get to jump, as the mare was originally brought as a showjumper but has since found great success in the show ring!
Carolina also recently qualified for HOYS as part of the 2011 South Essex Insurance Brokers Search For A Star Championship qualifiers at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre, Bedfordshire on 5th June in the Riding Club Show Horse Class.
Carolina, who is a veterinary nurse for Galleyhill Equine Clinic in Waltham Abbey, has owned the mare Linkwood Dancer, known as “Tigger”, for just over a year and does mainly riding club activities.
“The Search For A Star Championship is the first major thing we have done. I bought her to show jump, but we have been doing everything else so far!”
“Hoys is a dream, we always go to watch. I can’t believe I am going to ride there”, said Caroline who will be competing at the NEC in Birmingham this October. Good luck Carolina!
