The November 2011 rider of the month is Brentwood based Lara Segal. This month Laura competed at Brook Farm Training Centre in Stapleford Abbotts with Rustic Knights Charm (Rusty) in both prelim and novice classes.
Laura is fifteen-years-old and based at Oakleigh Farm Livery in Hutton, her pony is a 14.1hh chestnut gelding named Rusty, whom she has owned for just over a year. The pair love eventing, but particularly enjoy competing in dressage competitions, and Lara has plans to affiliate Rusty next year.
Lara scored a hat trick – winning all three classes that she entered and she also received a Hooked on Horses rosette for the highest score in one test.
Lara is a regular competitor at Brook Farm, and she kicked off her winning streak on the 29th, with a win in the junior prelim thirteen scoring 70.41%. She then added a second rosette to her collection in the junior prelim eighteen and then topped off the day with a win in the junior novice twenty.
“At the show i was extremely proud and pleased with Rusty competing in our very first novice and gaining 63% and getting an unexpected 70% win in one of my prelim tests, as I felt I was up against really tough competition.” said Lara adding, “I am very grateful to my fantastic trainer Chrissie Rhodes-Dennis as without her i wouldn’t have been able to achieve this success with my riding.”
