December Rider of the Month – Aaron Harding

The December 2011 Martin Wilkinson Master Saddler Rider of the Month is Chelmsford based Aaron Harding who has a hugely successful month a horse he produced himself.

Five year old Kaiser, or ‘Aristocraat’ has dominated local prelim dressage classes after making his British Dressage debut at the end of October, placing every time he has been out, winning on most occasions. This included winning both preliminary classes on 5th November at Bluegate Hall in Bardfield with 64.16% in prelim one and a very impressive 70.43% in prelim fifteen.

“So far Kaiser has been very relaxed and consistent, I hope to affiliate him in January (he currently competes as an associate) and move up to novice level, and will aim to qualify for the regional finals,” said Aaron.

Aaron, who is trained by Jessica William and Roland Tong, brought Kaiser from his former boss; the five-year-old Dutch bred horse is by United, and was quite green before Aaron brought him on to his current level.

Aaron works for Tonie Finch as a competition groom, as well as being a freelance instructor and also rides for a variety of owners; “I’m producing myself as a competition rider, and am in the process of setting up a backing, breaking and producing yard at Norton Heath Equestrian Centre.”

Aaron rounded off a busy month (with over ten outings!) by winning a further two classes on 30th November – congratulations on a very successful month, we wish you good luck for the future.
